Thignonville. An association was born for the church of Saint-Pierre Saint-Marcou. A stand attracted the eye of visitors on Sunday during the car exhibition: the one held by Mathilde, Didier and Jean-Pierre for the association M.A.R.C.O.U. The objective: to highlight the church of Saint-Pierre Saint Marcou. Located in the farm of Parfait, the building has suffered the pangs of time and would need restoration work: both the roof and inside.
Partially listed as a historical monument
The church has been partially listed as a historical monument since 1931 for its nave of the XV e century and is endowed with two classified statues.
Saint-Marcou has long been an important religious figure in the village. He was credited with the healing power of scrofula, a disease of tuberculous origin causing purulent fistulas.
The association invites those who wish to get involved in the office, to share projects, ideas, make a donation, find funding. Residents of the village who want to work with the municipality to safeguard this heritage. And in the long term program cultural events at the church.
